Digital Manipulation and media

In my journalism class my teacher showed a picture of Oprah from the nineties

She showed us this picture

But the thing is that is not a picture of Oprah. Well that is her head but not her body my teacher told us.

It is really this womans body

See, Oprah use to be overweight then she lost the weight.
But they still weren't very satisfied so they put her head on Ann-Margaret body.

This woman is pretty right... probably a model (below)

but this woman doesn't exist.
What they did was put body parts of different women and put that together.

She's not a real person

Even Julia Roberts body isn't good enough for a cover. That's someone elses body.

No one is good enough for the media. They always change the way a person looks. The media wants you to buy into things that aren't real to make you feel bad about yourself so don't believe what you see.

You are amazing just the way you are.

Look out for trashy media.

  1. Oh wow, I never knew that about Julia Roberts. Poor Oprah, I think she's fine just the way she is. It's a sad reality isn't it....
